Privacy policy

This policy explains what Meliada does with personal data. It is short because this website collects very little.

What this website collects

Nothing. There is no contact form, no newsletter signup, no analytics package, no advertising pixel, and no cookie of any kind. We do not set local storage. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL in order to serve pages and protect the service from abuse. We do not have access to visitor-level records, do not receive reports built from them, and do not combine them with anything else. This processing is covered by Vercel's own privacy documentation.

Fonts

Typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. Loading them causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers, which will see your IP address and user agent as part of that request. Google states that it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles. If you would rather avoid the request entirely, a content blocker will stop it and the site will fall back to system typefaces.

If you email us

When you write to shaban@meliada.com we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to put in the message. Our email is hosted on Google Workspace. We use that information to reply and to run any engagement that follows.

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Correspondence connected to a live or completed engagement is kept for six years after the engagement ends, which is the period we need it for tax, contractual, and professional records.

We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, do not sell or rent contact details, and do not share them with third parties except where the law requires it or where a service provider processes them on our behalf under contract.

Legal basis

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests to handle enquiry correspondence, meaning our interest in responding to people who contact us about work. Where an engagement is agreed, we rely on performance of a contract. Where we retain records for tax or accounting purposes, we rely on legal obligation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy
• have inaccurate data corrected
• have data erased where we have no continuing need or legal duty to keep it
• object to or ask us to restrict our processing
• complain to your data protection regulator

Children

This is a business to business studio. The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under sixteen.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be described in a short note here rather than made quietly.
